Hemp seed is an oil rich seed that can be fed as a straight feed, or mixed in with your current mix. Hemp has very good weight gaining properties for birds and is an ideal supplement in the breeding season. This hemp is grown by the Amish and is claimed to have "magical" breeding effects by its users. This is a favorite food for Linnies, and for other small hookbills that need to gain weight, or you wish to trigger to breed. Fine for your pet birds as well, as long as it is not used along with lengthening of light (above 12 hours). This hemp is sold bulk in food grade BPA free bags, except in the 12 oz retail packaging size.
